Lee Smith

Lee Smith is the pianist/singer/writer and talent of The Regulars Band. He is the brother of Lindsey Smith and the Daddy of Clay, Robbie, and Jacob. Lee was raised by howler monkeys in Rex, Georgia (considered to be the original spot of The Garden of Eden). When Lee was a kid he dreamed of three things: Being a Ghost Buster, being a Ninja Turtle, and becoming the first black president. As he grew older he saw the impossibility of all three so he started a band.

Lee feels like his education and degree in film has ruined him from enjoying movies. In a 2009 interview with Ebony he was quoted, “I feel my education and degree in film has ruined me from enjoying movies.” Lee does enjoy making funny videos, smashing (tennis), and seducing women with his chicken tetrazzini.

When Lee is not tickling the ivories (no homo) in The Regulars Band he is out gunnin’ for justice. He is an avid fair-weather Atlanta sports fan and finds no shame in only rooting for winners. If the end of the world were to happen tomorrow and he had to survive with just the band he says, “End of the world? I’d be on guns, Robbie would build the castle, Jacob is on plumbing, Clay would handle all of the math, and Lindsey would build a moat and fill it with sharks…but I’m definitely on guns.”
